Mid Week Sketch 25-12

Hi there, another beautiful winter day in sunny Brisbane. The garden could do with some rain, but I'm not complaining about the weather at all, it's lovely seeing that blue and feeling so comfortable. Not much time in my household for creative pursuits unfortunately, but that's life, isn't it? Some days are free, some are not.

Here is this week's sketch for you, one for the boys this time.

And here is the page I made - some old photos of my son. I wish now that taking photos back then was as high an art form as it is today. Cameras were not so fancy, close ups were rare and details were either lost or overwhelming. However, in the end it doesn't matter what your pictures are like, if they bring back memories for you. It's not about stunning portraits, it's about telling your story, after all.

If you like the embellishments on my page, you might like to know that I have made up ten packs just like them (no two exactly alike though) with the journaling tag, pinwheel, banner and lollipop flowers, which you can buy for $5 plus p&p. Just email me or go to my Made It shop, Elsie & Grace and put in your order and they will be winging their way to you, wherever you are.

Mid Week Sketch 24-12

Hope you like this week's sketch as much as I do. I am still working on my page but it will be up soon. Just thought you might be popping in to find the sketch, so it's up first. It is a reasonably simple sketch, with most of the detail in the embellishments. If you don't want to use flowers, there are plenty of other things that would suit the space instead. Try cogs, stars, a leafy flourish, a tree, a little animal... I'm sure you have something lurking in your stash. Share your page by link and go in the draw to win a little flower pack handmade by me - picture coming soon. I know... disorganised (sorry). My excuse is that I've just come home from a 5 day scrapbooking retreat that I organised and enjoyed to the hilt. Everything else went out the window a bit.

Mid Week Sketch 23-12

Hi girls, I hope all is well where you are and that you have some time in your week for a bit of scrapping. I am off to a Scrapbooking Retreat today with the Home and Scrapped girls. So excited. I've done all the arranging, cooking and everything so I am hoping it goes well (the buck stops here, lol). Some ladies are arriving today and some tomorrow, and I am about to head out the door to get the keys to our little holiday house for 5 days of blissful scrapping and yakking. We're also going to the Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo here in Brisbane on Saturday for some learning and shopping pleasures.

I was organised early this week and have your sketch ready to play with as soon as you want.

And my example page. This is an exquisitely embroidered quilt that my mother made last year. Hoping my name is on the back but I have two sisters, so I might have to compete, lol.  ;-) Don't you love those butterflies on my page? I do. They are from a Graphics 45 Olde Curiosity Shoppe Paper Butterfly Specifics paper, which I really should have bought more of... I bought it especially for the butterflies, which I fussy cut from it and I could use them over and over. I will look for more, for sure.

Hope you like the sketch and page, and it helps you tell another part of your story.
