Home and Scrapped's February = Love Blog Hop
If you are here for
the Home and Scrapped February = Love Blog Hop, welcome! The Hop officially begins at lunch time today. You should have come
here from Angie’s blog, and after me, you need to move on to Kerri’s blog for
your next clues. The Hop is exclusive to H&S members, but don’t despair if
you aren’t a member – details below on how to become one.
February is the month
of romantic love, although I like to celebrate all types of love as much as
possible. Love is what makes the world goes around, after all. It’s totally
essential for a fulfilled and productive life. And why be limited to romance?
Apart from my beloved and my family, I love trees, and storms, and cats, and
beautiful embroidery, and chicken dinners, and all sorts of little things that
daily give me pleasure or make me glad to be here. If you have the eyes to see
it, the world is a lovely place.
There are a few
things you may not know about me… well, quite a lot probably, hehe, but here
are four possibly interesting facts from my life about things I love:
My favourite flowers
are daisies and violets.
I never had anything
pink as a child, although I make up for that now a bit. I used to resent never
having anything pink and always being the one in blue, but years later I
realised that blue was my mother’s favourite colour.
I believe in fairies.
How can they not be real? Don’t answer that… lalalalala
If I could live
anywhere in the world, it would be in a stone cottage beside a forest overlooking
a loch in Scotland (with a teleport machine to get me back to Australia to
visit my family regularly, of course…)
It’s not true that I
am obsessed with tidiness, despite what my children say. It’s just that if the
house is tidy behind me, I feel that my creative time is really my own, because
I’ve done my duty. And I do love my creative time and all the pleasures it
brings me.
There are so many
gorgeous quotes about love floating about the world… and I’m supposed to choose one for this Hop…
but who can choose one? Here’s a few I like. I hope that when you read them,
they mean something to you too.
“I love you, not
only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you. I love you, not
only for what you have made of yourself, but for what you are making of me.”
Roy Croft
“What we have once
enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.” Helen
Keller
“Love doesn’t sit
there like a stone, it has to be made, like bread; remade all of the time, made
new.” Ursula Le Guin
“Tell me who admires
you and loves you, and I will tell you who you are.” Charles Augustin
Sainte-Beuve
“If love is blind,
why is lingerie so popular?” Author Unknown

for your secret quote is IS

Now, one last thing…
when you are doing your challenge pages for the H&S Cyber Crop this weekend,
how about a little added challenge from me? I would love to see some beading or
embroidery of some kind on at least one of your pages. If you do this, I will
put your name in the draw for an extra little RAK from me!

Wonderful little tid-bits about you, Heather! Love the quotes too! :)
Love your quote Heather, right up my alley of not being too serious. And,you have just dashed my thoughts of you being a clean freak..... After seeing all the cleanliness and restoration of items in your home photos, my ideas of you are just flying out the window....;-)
Isnt it funny when I was a child I never had pink either I think it was all purples and greens. Purple was my mums favourite colour, still is actually. Mine was green when I was a child and it changed to pink when I had all my children and realised I would be the only girl in my house!
Its good to get to know some little things about you :)
Love your blog and your quote Heather!
Have fun hopping :)
Your flowers are beautiful xx
well I believe in angels and I liked how you added all the other things to love besides romance
Mary
Have enjoyed the blog hop - never really have the time to do this
It is not exactly beading or embroidery but I did some sewing on Liz's challenge page. The clouds were machine sewn but the sun is hand sewn with embroidery thread. ;-)
Loved the blog hop.
Hi Heather, finally got here eeventhough the CC is nearly over. Thought it was a really fun one that everyone could have a go at. Congratulations on passing over 100 followers.
